Pelletization project with Luleå University of Technology

With the support of Vinnova, GreenIron has during the summer started a collaborative project with Professor Bo Björkman and Luleå University of Technology. The project aims to create sustainable pellets of residual products (oxidized scale and smoke dust) and magnetite. We have received material samples from Swedish steelworks that have shown great interest in our cost-effective and fossil-fre solution. Produced pellets will then be tested in GreenIron’s hydrogen furnace to recover pure steel from the residues and pure iron from the magnetite. The project is expected to be completed by the turn of the year.
