Midsummer Greetings and Update from GreenIron

June 20, 2024

As we celebrate the Swedish Midsummer, we are pleased to share some updates on our recent progress

Two months ago, GreenIron was granted an environmental permit for our first full-scale production site in Sandviken, Sweden. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our team, construction swiftly commenced, marking an important milestone in our efforts to contribute to a more sustainable metal and mining industry.

Now, it’s time for us to take a few well-deserved days off to celebrate Midsummer – the longest day of the year in Sweden. Midsummer is a cherished tradition in Sweden, celebrated with dancing around the maypole, singing, enjoying traditional foods like pickled herring and new potatoes, and spending time with family and friends. It is a time to appreciate the beauty of nature and the arrival of summer.

We will be back on Monday, ready to continue our work. Later this year, we will begin producing raw materials from ore and by-products, transforming materials often considered waste by the metal and mining industries into valuable resources using hydrogen. This process will enable steel mills and foundries to manufacture their products more sustainably. Additionally, we can recycle their by-products to produce raw materials again, promoting a circular economy.

Our goal is to minimize CO2 emissions by focusing on recycling and circularity within the mining and metal industries. Our process is entirely carbon dioxide-free, with water as the only by-product.

Together, we are working towards a greener future for the industry. Thank you for your continued support, and happy Midsummer from all of us at GreenIron!
